Oddities: Part Two (Montage/Leftovers)

A pair of recordings, mostly unrelated,
found on a reel of tape marked "KHJ Morgue" in the archives of 93/KHJ program
director Ron Jacobs. Part One is a brief contemporary
overview of the station's origins by Paul Dallas, followed
by an interview with a teenaged fan of the station --
Dallas' stepson, Chris. (A partially mangled but still
classic "Pat Paulsen For President" promo closes out the
recording.) Part Two includes a snippet from
competitor KRLA; outtakes of KHJ concert promos by Diana
Ross and Mary Wilson of The Supremes; an in-studio Sunday
morgan appearance by a sleepy Mama Cass Elliott on the
Robert W. Morgan show; a clip from "L.T." (Lord Tim Hudson)
on KFWB; and closes with the promotional tune that started
it all off for Boss Radio in Los Angeles. |
